The city of Christchurch stands in the Canterbury area of New Zealand's South Island and is home to a population of around 350,000 inhabitants. The area's capital city, life in Christchurch is centred around Cathedral Square, with the centrepiece being the magnificent Christchurch Cathedral.

Cathedral Squares is edged by Bealy, Fitzgerald, Moorhouse and Rolleston avenues and is the hub of Christchurch, containing many of the city's most notable attractions, restaurants and shopping centres. Located on the northern side of Christchurch's Cathedral Square stands a large shopping district including Victoria Square, which is located alongside the scenic Avon River.

Standing on the eastern side of Cathedral Square you will find Jade Stadium, often referred to as 'Lancaster Park'. Jade Stadium hosts many of the largest sporting events in Christchurch, together with a range of seasonal festivals. To the west of central Christchurch lies Hagely Park, a vast expanse of green, offering the perfect respite away from the busy city centre.
